Les caves du Louvre

My friend Brenda and I went to Les Caves du Louvre for a wine tasting, during our girls trip to Paris. We purchased the 32€, 3 wine tasting in English. You can go online and set up your tasting. They do have some add on's when you book your reservation.

The tour guide gives you a ton of information about the wine you are trying. I'll admit we did this tour about 6 hours after we landed in Paris. We did take a nap, but I was tired and I don't really remember all of what he told us.

This is the former royal winery during King Louis XV's time. There were underground tunnels to the Louvre when it was the royal palace. This way the sommelier didn't have to take his wine outside and risk people stealing it. The tunnels are no longer accessible because of the metro line.

We went to three different rooms to try the three different wines, white, red and rosé. Then they took us to a wine label room and explained the wine labels. I would say the white was my favorite. Each room was unique and it was designed that way to enhance our senses.

They had a map in each room to show us where the wine that we tasted was from.

The two pictures above are of the wine label room. This is where he explained wine labels. The back wall is just mesmerizing.

I highly recommend this tour. I plan on going back with my husband next time.

Au revoir !
